Social Media and Retail Strategy [PwC Leaders Presentation]

This is our recent well-received presentation to retail and consumer executives at our guest gig at two PwC Business Leaders events.  We focus on why

  • retailers deal in social networks all the time,
  • these are not synonymous with social media, and
  • Social Media should be discussed at the C-Suite, even if managed in MarCom

In this deck we introduce our new SocMed Maturity Model. We welcome comments and suggestions.

DIG360 Presentation: Creating the Culture for Retail Sustainability

Here is the presentation supporting the panel I moderated at the Retail BC Passion For Retail Conference on May 5 in Vancouver, Canada.

The theme this year was Retailers Can Save The World (Sustainability and Retail Strategy).  I was fortunate to have been the Conference Chair for this forward-thinking event.

Please share with me your thoughts or questions on this presentation, as well as stories of how sustainability is impacting retail sector executives and their strategies - and how retail is influencing the broader dialogue on social and environmental responsibility.

Presentation on Forces of Change in Canadian Retail

This is my slide deck from the presentation I gave at the Canadian Marketing Association National Conference last month (See bottom of page).

My previous upload had been blocked for the past couple of weeks due to some server issues, so thanks for your patience.

The presentation covered the major disrupters and influencers facing the sector and a general state of the nation, along with some thoughts on what the future might hold.

Feel free to contact me at davidiangray@dig360.ca if you would like to hear more about any of the slides.

Passion for Retail Conference May 5th in Vancouver, Canada - Green Retail is the Theme!

Retail BC's annual Passion for Retail Conference is just a few weeks away. The Green Retail theme for this British Columbia business showcase is very appropriate considering the challenges in becoming more sustainable while dealing with the uncertainty of a tough economy.  This event will certainly help decision-makers and those serving the sector alike.

David Ian Gray is honoured to be named the Conference Chair. In addition to setting the agenda within the Green Retail umbrella, he has used his network to bring together a standout group of presenters from the region and beyond.  This includes Peter Robinson (David Suzuki Foundation and ex-CEO of Mountain Equipment Co-op) and noted author and green biz leader Gary Hirshberg, CEO of Stonyfield Farm and Managing Director of Danone Europe.  Retailers represented include London Drugs, Pharmasave, Lululemon and two innovative independent retail entrepreneurs.

The 'recession pricing' for this event is an incredible deal.  For more information and to register, please click this link:
